What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander!

I don’t agree, of course, with the activities of this couple, but why is it so much more acceptable for a man to visit a brothel than a woman to work in one?

A Polish man got the shock of his life when he visited a brothel and spotted his wife among the establishment’s employees.

Polish tabloid Super Express said the woman had been making some extra money on the side while telling her husband she worked at a store in a nearby town.

“I was dumbfounded, I thought I was dreaming,” the husband told the newspaper on Wednesday.

The couple, married for 14 years, are now divorcing, the newspaper reported.

What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander!

For those who are not used to the expression I used in the post title:

What is good for a man is equally good for a woman; or, what a man can have or do, so can a woman have or do. This comes from an earlier proverb, “What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.”

  1. Neither one should be acceptable – visiting one or working in one.

And then husband talked to the newspaper as if he was so wronged. People!

  2. I’ve heard of the saying, “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander”,but I’ve never heard of the sauce one.

  3. Maybe she had a really high trust level of her husband, thinking he’d never see her there because he’d never be there as a customer. I’m not promoting for either one of them but it sure does show the truth in that old saying doesn’t it?

She should have asked him “What are YOU doing here?”

  4. lol

Thanks for the laugh. But why are they divorcing? Don’t they deserve each other? 🙂

  5. I wonder what “too much sauce spoils the goose” means.
