Heads or Tails #5 – Terror Attack, where was I.

Skittles has started a new meme for every Tuesday called visit her blog for instructions. Basically she gives us a word and we can do whatever we like with it. That can’t be too hard, can it? This week the subject is ‘Terror Attack on 9/11 where was I’ , obviously because this Tuesday is the anniversary of that day.

We were driving back from Calgary after visiting our sons. We drove past the Athabasca Glacier, and we could see a lot of American motor homes left by the side of the road while their owners were taking the tour up the glacier. One cannot be receive radio, television, or cell phones, signals in the mountains so we all were oblivious as to what was going on in the world.

It wasn’t until later, when we pulled into the information centre at Hinton, that we heard about it. I went in to enquire about somewhere to stay and everyone was in the back room watching the television, they motioned me to join them, at first I thought they were watching a movie,

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I could imagine the shock waiting for those American tourists, when they came within radio range.
